Nick was the first player in over 30 years to join the University of Florida football team out of Newberry High School. Once there, Nick worked his way up as a walk-on to earn a starting spot on special teams and was awarded a full athletic scholarship for his final two seasons. In the classroom, he was a 3 time SEC Academic Honor Roll recipient. He graduated with a degree in Construction Management before transferring to Western Carolina University, where he would serve as a team captain during his final year of eligibility.

Ashley was the first person in history to graduate from Newberry High School and go on to become an Ivy League student-athlete, playing volleyball at Brown University. She served as a team captain in her final season, leading her team to their first Ivy League Championship in 20 years. She graduated with a degree in Computer Science - Economics and maintained a 4.0 GPA in her degree, all the while competing at the Division I athletics level.
